WHY:
In 2006, Arizona was seventh in the nation for workzone fatalities. To  pay tribute to the motorist and workers who have lost their lives in work zone collisions, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation, Friends and Families of Roadway Workers and AAA Arizona are teaming up to kick-off National Work Zone Awareness Week 2008. The campaign runs from April 7 to 11 and urges motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving through work zones.

The press conference will take place on the SE corner of Indian Bend and Hayden Roads.

However, parking will be available at the McCormick-Stillman
Railroad Park, which is located at 7301 E. Indian Bend Road.
